The meat on the roasts were dry and not very nice at all to the point we couldn't eat it so we took it home for the dog! We had to ask for our vegetables no sauces were offered. We ordered another drink which never arrived pigs in blankets were undercooked. We wasn't offered any desserts. The young manager had a terrible attitude and just didn't seem like he wanted to be there or could manage all the staff... the table next to us were complaining about the service too (or lack off) and the food.
There seemed to be lots of staff on with not very many customers inside or out.
I can honestly say I won't be returning, I'll just go to my nans for a roast!
We had an okay meal- it was a Sunday and so as a family of vegetarians/vegans choice was limited- the burger was too much of a 'meat substitute'- we prefer... read more bean burgers or something that is not trying to be meat. The service was fine but without any spark and the place just felt like it could do with a lift of energy.
Came in for a lunch with 4 children, Joe and Emily were amazingly helpful and attentive. Looked after the children with a smile, despite changing orders. Food was honestly superb,... read more much better than expected. Linguine was light and incredibly fresh, as was caprese salad. Children very happy with brioche burgers and crisp fries. Restaurant food in a pub. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
Went for a business meeting both had pub fish and chips which I ate half and so did my business associate as fish was not tasty as it was probably... read more straight out of the freezer and chips were soggy. I did mention it to a member of staff who apologised and was very polite. The table next to ours the lady had the same and was moaning to her husband. This is the second time I have eaten there and the second bad meal I’ve had which is a real shame as the staff are so lovely and accommodating. Maybe just had bad luck but for bill I was presented with I am afraid it just didn’t do it for us!
Fantastic friendly staff, can not do enough for you .
Dog friendly as well .

As soon as I walked in I was greeted quite promptly by a server at the bar wearing the correct PPE. I was then assigned my table and was approached by Chloe to ask for me drink. This was then served at speed baring in mind the football was on so was expecting it to be a little slow.
With the pub being packed with football I was still served quick in quick time and have been made to feel at home. I would like I thanks Chloe for this as she has looked after us very much.
Me, my wife and children had just left a pub up the road as it wasn't as child friendly and family orientated as we would have liked, on our way... read more home we drove past the Crown Inn pub which happened to be showing the football and had lots of friendly faces around the garden area, instantly we felt invited and parked up, whilst we were there we enjoyed very quick service from very polite staff, watched the match on a big screen, and enjoyed a lovely afternoon.
Thanks you Crown Inn, we will be back again very soon
Such a shame excellent staff very good food spoilt by atmosphere of drilling into concrete less than 10 metres away, suspect owner though he would only be upsetting one lot... read more of customers as we were the only one there on a Saturday lunchtime
I went with two friends for dinner last night. We booked a table outside a few weeks back with under table heating. The young man on table service was so... read more friendly and happy nothing was too much. The food was yummy. I sat outside till 9 pm without a coat or jumper and it wasn't that warm but the under table heater worked its magic. Making it a comfortable dinner outside.
Was shown to our table and after about 15 minutes had to grab someone to ask for drinks. They took what felt like forever to arrive.
Ordered pre... read more starters as expected the wait time for food to be long.
Ordered starters and mains... the starters turned up before the pre starters, when we questioned this no one could find the order and we’re very confused. We asked if we could just have the pork crackling, 2 bowls of pork scratchings turned up!! Not what was on the menu nor what we ordered.
Several rounds of drinks took so long to arrive or they were totally wrong. Lattes ordered, decaf coffees turned up!
No cutlery in the tables so had to ask for some, food got cold whilst waiting. Staff really slow.
Another table there got so fed up of waiting they walked out!!
Shall 100% not return
Food was not bad, the burger was burnt a lot and the brownie was mushed up.
Service was slow but the waiters are pretty good.
Freezing cold evening . Sat outside in lovely heated tent allowing us to be with friends. Food delivered piping hot . Offered blankets and hot water bottles but not actually needed .
Under Gov guidelines had to book an outside table to meet with friends, was a bit worried due to weather, but no need to be. The outside eating area sits... read more under a huge tent, there were leg heaters under the table (they were brill), hot water bottles, blankets we were toasty! There are more heaters on the way apparently so it'll get even better (you do need to wrap up, it is outside and there is only so much they can do to cope with an English winter) but they have really gone to huge effort to make sure you are comfortable. The food was excellent, the service was brilliant with happy, friendly and attentive staff and we had an excellent night. It got busy and that was horrible wet Thursday so I would recommend booking.
All in all an excellent evening, great to get out with mates, no time limit on table, no pressure to order, eat and leave that you find in other places. I had the chicken burger which I usually avoid elsewhere as it can disappoint but it was lovely, perfect in fact. Well done all at the Crown, it was my first visit (the others with me have been and rated it highly) and I will definitely be back.
I have visited this pub twice. Last visit was a family Halloween meal and creative activities for the children.
I cant praise the staff enough! They are attentive, responsible,... read more professional, friendly, helpful ... the compliments could continue 🙂
Its really a lovely pub and if you are in the area I would say this is a pub to visit
I booked an outside table on a Friday night to meet up with some girl friends complying with tier 2 covid restrictions. This was our first visit to the pub.... read more We were very impressed with all the covid guidelines being followed and social distancing. Our table was under a lovely canopy area with fairy lights and several heaters, we had wrapped up warm too. Thr waitresses were lovely, very warm, genuine and helpful, in particular Joe who was pregnant and still very energetic!! And another young blonde waitress that went out of her way to show me all the different flavours teas I could choose from. The drinks were very reasonably priced and the food being served to other tables looked delicious. So a lovely, warm enjoyable evening with a great but safe atmosphere,we are planning to return in a couple of weeks this time to eat too.

I was also told that the pub was only offering a £20.00, 2 course set menu, to be sold at £10.00 due to the Governments relief. And there's the con. We ordered 2 Lamb Burgers. We didn't want dessert, but, for arguments sake, let's call dessert £4 in a pub, and I have been charged £32.00 for 2 Lamb Burgers. Hiding behind 'Eat Out to Help Out' in order to rip customers off is not a good plan. I wonder how many Burgers they will sell at £16.00ea on Thursday? Is the £20.00 menu the same at the weekend? The scheme is offering 50% of what one spends, not doubling up for the operator.
That said, the food was good and the service very pleasant. Well done to the Team being let down by the duplicitous owners.
It's a shame. It is a nice pub but, with so many other nice places in the area, why go back?
Great quality, 2 courses for £10, brilliant Eat out to help out option. Great service high quality food

Although a restricted number of tables, everything was efficient, well presented and perfectly... read more cooked. Fab 'little' pub, staff welcoming and organised; car park was full (good sign in my eyes) so had to park out on the main road, but not a problem. Apart from the visusl signs by staff of social distancing, you couldn't have asked for a better organised establishment. Credit to Valda and her team. May just have to do a second visit, which if you are a follower of my reviews is very rare. Well done all...

The outside space under the tent is brilliant. We went up to the pub for dinner a week or so ago and it was delicious! Really good quality food and drink!
Since reopening following lock down it’s clear that a list of hard work has gone into creating a safe warm environment to go and relax in!
Really looking forward to out next visit this weekend!
Great atmosphere, lovely food and such friendly staff. Will definitely be returning soon. Cleanliness and safety Covid precautions were very good.

Even during these strange times of socialising, it’s very comfortable and feels warm under the tented outside area and lighting and flowers set it off beautifully.
Food was really lovely and was a surprise, I was expecting ‘pub grub’ but it was much more than that!! Highly recommend the prawns and Caesar salad. Pricing was fine and reasonable in my opinion.
Live music by Kyle Chater acoustic was lovely and service was fab and attentive. Overall a great evening and I will be back soon.

When we did get a seat and ordered the food it was okay but way over priced for what you got. Portion size was tiny. I’ve been a few times since it reopened but I think this will now be our last. I’ve seen lots of nice pictures posted on Facebook by this place but that’s definitely not what we were served. I would of sent the food back but the server wasn’t the friendliest after getting our drinks order wrong. Lots of other nice places close by to try instead.

The food is delicious & generous portion sizes. The food is real food, cooked in their kitchens NOT the ready sliced meat preserved in gravy from the wholesaler, frozen roast potatoes & veg topped with some bisto that some pubs serve under the guise of a roast dinner.
The atmosphere was buzzy, happy & relaxed whilst still be being able to easily have your own conversation.
We will be back without a doubt. Probably the best roast within a good few miles.
Give it try, it’s very much worth the effort for an extra few minutes in the car.
Expensive food! £18 for roast duo of pork! £16 for beef. We don’t mind paying good money for a roast, but neither meal was worth the above price! Beef was... read more fatty, could only eat a little bit, pork loin dry as a bone and the pork belly cubes minimal! Gravy near on flavourless, and gluey in texture. Vegetable selection was good however, but extra side veg was expensive again! Cauliflower cheese had hardly any cheese sauce, so was dry.
Some staff were good, the two dark haired ladies, another staff member was ill and therefore going into and out of the toilet, sick left in toilet!!! Hope she washed her hands!? Also saw said waitress coming in from outside and immediately taking plates, no hand washing??
Drinks were good price, so if popping in for a drink then fair enough.
Table location, uncomfortable, old furniture with stains on the seats. Felt in the way of staff members.
All in all, disappointing and will likely not return, mainly based on the ‘London’ food prices!
